The ingredients

Magnesium Caprylate

A fatty acid that has been proven to improve the balance of the healthy intestinal flora. Its main effect is anti-fungal and is known for being efficient against Candid and other fungus and yeast infections. The mechanism through which Magnesium caprylate is helping in fungus infections is by controlling the overgrowth of these and interrupting the duplicating process. It also dissolves the membranes of the thrush, vaginal yeast and jock itch. For best effects it is also recommended to have a good balanced diet low in yeast and sugars.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is known for its anti-microbial, anti-worm, carminative, anti-spasmodic and anti-diarrhoea properties, also helpful in flatulence and successfully employed in soothing weak digestive systems, nausea, reflux and helpful in flu and colds. It is also helpful in suppressing the growth of micro-organisms such as Escherichia coli (widely spread in intestinal flora), Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans.

Cloves

Contain a very powerful germicidal component, help killing intestinal parasites and acts as anti-microbial agent against intestinal bacteria and fungi.

Shiitake Mushroom powder

Shiitake mushroom has an old history of medicinal use, starting thousands of years ago in Asia. Current researches are discovering that extracts of this mushroom have regulating effects over bacteria, viruses, parasites and inhibit the formation of blood clots.

Garlic

It is considered to be a natural "broad spectrum antibiotic", because of its extraordinary properties of stopping the growth of more than 60 types of fungi, more than 20 strains of bacteria, viruses, protozoa, parasites and amoebas. Allicin and ajoene are two of the main ingredients that make garlic such a potent anti-parasitic agent. Allicin occurs when the garlic is crushed. An old way to use garlic is to crush is and give it as an enema, to get rid of the unwanted intestinal guests. Ajoene is known for its effective action against yeast infections (Candida albicans) and also a remedy for the "Athlete's foot". Studies shown garlic being effective against Entamoeba histolytica, Helicobacter pylori, Staphylococcus aureus, Roundworm, Tapeworm, Threadworm, Hookworm, Giardia, Lamblia, Trypanosoma, Plasmidium and Leishmania. It helps detoxifying while gently stimulating elimination of the intestinal mass, also having an antioxidant effect is helping against the oxidation caused by parasite toxins

Glucomannan

Usually derived from konjac root, Glucomannan is a water-soluble polysaccharide which is classed as a dietary fibre. Its main uses are linked to the fact that it is a potent laxative and can decrease the time needed for the intestinal mass to travel through the intestines. It is well used against constipation and as a "bulk forming" laxative. It is also noted that it improved the cholesterol levels in obesity: a study showed that in healthy men, 4 weeks of taking 3.9 grams of glucomannan has decreased total cholesterol levels, low-density lipoprotein, triglycerides (dropped by 23%) and systolic blood pressure.

Pumpkin seed

Studies have demonstrated the curcubitin, an amino-acid found in the pumpkin seed, has anti-parasitic and anti-fungal activity. Human trials in China showed that pumpkin seed is helpful in people suffering from schistosomiasis — a severe parasitic disease occurring primarily in Asia and in Africa, transmitted through snails. Other studies conducted in China and Russia have proved that the pumpkin seeds are effective against tapeworm infestations.

Chicory root

Chicory root has become the point of research in the last years due to the natural source of natural chemicals that it contains (tannins) and a study published in 2011 "Parasitology Research" by the Cairo University in Egypt has found the extracts of chicory killed the parasites when these have been tested in vitro. Therefore, it is considered that chicory is beneficial for killing the human intestinal parasites. It is believed that it is the Lactones that are the main compounds which make chicory effective against the intestinal parasites.

Grapefruit seed

Citricidal, the extract of grapefruit seed is proven to be a highly effective anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-parasitic agent, proven to work against more than 800 strains of bacteria and viruses, fungi, single-celled parasites. The mechanism through which the grapefruit seed is so potent against these micro-organisms is that it stops the intake of amino-acids by the microbes and parasites therefore making those weaker and killing them off meanwhile not affecting significantly the healthy intestinal flora.

Cayenne

The reason why this herb is "hot" is that it contains Capsaicin, a volatile oil which is stimulating our body and increases the metabolism making us feel and be hot. This in turn creates unfavourable conditions for parasites, as they do not like conditions of an increased metabolism and temperature. Cayenne is known for being effective in improving the blood circulation, cleansing, indigestion, improving the urinary tract health, effective against colds, flu, digestive diorders and strengthening the heart muscle.

Fenugreek seed

Fenugreek is a medicinal herb, rich in antioxidants and with the following beneficial effects: it is a natural laxative, anti-parasitic effects, increases the milk flow, stimulates the uterus, soothes irritated tissues, lowers fever, reduces blood sugar levels, improves digestion and promotes healing. It also stimulates the immune system and therefore leads the removal of the toxins from the organism.
The Fenugreek seeds are high in lipids, protein, protease inhibitors, alkaloids, mucilaginous fibre, phosphorus, iron, calcium, niacin, vitamin C, selenuim and various other nutrients. The main effect is stimulant, anti-parasitic, anti-inflammatory, afrodisiac, expectorant, hepatoprotective and diaphoretic, reducing the fatty tissues.

Olive leaf

An excellent time tested remedy against the parasitic infestations — even 4000 years ago there are evidence that the Mediterranean nations have been using chopped olive leaved in liquids or salads. Olive leaf is effective against fungi, moulds, worms and harmful bacteria and can be used for yeast infections. Studies in 1960s have confirmed that the olive leaf extract has the ability co counteract the malaria protozoa but being much harder to administer than quinine, its use was abandoned in favour of quinine.

Intestinal parasites — signs and symptoms

Parasites can sometimes trigger some symptoms among persistent chronic diarrhoea is one of them. Among other digestive signs of parasites are:

  • Abdominal pain, cramps, bloating
  • Allergic reactions to foods
  • Anaemia
  • Chronic fatigue, sleep disturbances
  • Changes in stool: presence of blood, mucus, constipation, gas, IBS
  • Cough, itching, joint and muscles aches, hives
  • Infected gums
  • Poor immune response to usual colds and flu or other viral infections
  • Rashes
  • Teeth grinding during sleep
  • Unexplained fever
  • Unexplained weight loss

Parasites will cause major disturbances in the distribution of nutrients in the intestine, water absorption, vitamins metabolism and overwhelm the immune response. Symptoms may persist constantly or just come and go. In some parasite infestations, these can mimic symptoms of other disease such as rheumatoid fever, chronic fatigue syndrome, Chron's disease, ulcerative colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, arthritis.
