Psyllium husks

Soluble dietary fibre, used in many of our supplements as an adjunct in relieving constipation, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and diarrhoea. It also helps in improving and maintaining a regular digestive transit. Recent research also suggests promising results of the Psyllium husks in lowering the cholesterol levels and controlling diabetes.

This vitamin also plays an important role in controlling the healthy blood pressure levels, stabilizing the blood sugar levels and the growth and repair of the cells. Also, the anti-oxidative properties of this vitamin needs to be mentioned, as it is an important immune system stimulant.

Phosphorus

The main Phosphorus consumers in the human body are the bones and the teeth — Phosphorus is required for bone and teeth formation. Calcium is an important structural component of osseous tissue but the strength of these are partly due to the Phosphorus content. This substance also facilitates the proper digestion of riboflavin and niacin, plays an important role in the neural impulses transmission, has a role in the kidney function and helps excrete waste products, but also is a energy source. Naturally both Calcium and Phosphorus can be found in the dairy products, but most of the derivative calcium supplements and calcium-fortified drinks and foods contain Calcium alone and no Phosphorus, particularly those that are dairy-free.

Aloe vera

Aloe is known from the ancient times as being a digestive health support herb, used to treat and soothe the harsh symptoms of colitis, IBS, gastric ulcers but also beneficial as a slimming aid as it has positive effects on the energy levels and sustains a healthy metabolism. Aloe is also recognized for its beneficial effects on the immune system and it contains a broad spectrum of vitamins including vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E.

High doses of vitamin B3 (Nicotinamide) have been proved to successfully lower the elevated bad cholesterol levels. Also, some evidence suggest that in type 1 diabetes, it can delay the time individuals need to take insulin.

Potassium (Gluconate)

As potassium is an electrolyte it is important to keep the balance of these stable in the organism for heart health, healthy blood pressure, stable blood sugar levels, bone health and muscle function. Individuals who suffer of Crohn's disease or take loop diuretics are at risk of losing Potassium and are likely to benefit in particular from supplementing their diet with Potassium Gluconate.

Calcium

Almost the entire calcium in the human body is contained in the bones and teeth. The remaining 1% circulates in the bloodstream where it has important functions such as supporting the muscular contraction, regulating the heart function, transmitting nerve impulses and supporting blood clotting. Also, in important part of calcium is played in regulating the hormonal secretion and also aids in the functioning of various enzymes within the body.

Vitamin A (Acetate)

Diverse functions such as vision, immunity, maintenance of skin elasticity, bone and body growth, normal cell development, reproduction, maintaining healthy teeth, skeletal and soft tissue and mucous membranes — all depend to some extent on the vitamin A.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamin)

Vitamin B1 plays and important role in maintaining a healthy nervous, digestive and cardiovascular system, helping with the conversion of the carbohydrates into glucose, which in turn is used to produce the energy necessary for various body functions. Vitamin B1 (Thiamin) is also necessary for breakdown of fats and protein.

Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

Affects the thyroid hormone production, which is responsible for speeding up the metabolism and providing steady energy. This vitamin has also a role in producing body immune cells and build red blood cells. Contains substances that assist other nutrients as powerful antioxidants, repair and maintain tissue and heal wounds, also helping with eye functions and healthy nerves.

Vitamin B5 (Calcium Pantothenate)

Vitamin B5 is important for its role in the energy release from the carbohydrates, the synthesis and degradation of the fatty acids and other acetylation reactions, the production of steroid hormones, the adrenal glands' production of hormones and nervous system function. Also, it is considered required to gain resistance against stress, shock and allergies, preventing depression, plus protection against radiation-caused cellular damage.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine HCL)

Essential for the breakdown of food and the production of energy, the production of neurotransmitters and for the proper functioning of the nervous system and the immune system. Another process in which Vitamin B6 is involved is the synthesis of hormones and red blood cells, also helping fight stress and manage the symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS).

Vitamin B12

Primary function of this vitamin is considered to be energy-boosting, for creating the red blood cells, promoting weight loss, supporting emotional well-being and being used as a treatment for depression. Also it supports the nervous system stable function and supports healthy sleeping patterns.

Vitamin D2

Copper Gluconate

Helps in maintaining healthy skin, hair colour, bone health and to form red blood cells. Serves as a vital component of proteins and enzymes being a necessary precursor to Superoxide Dismutase, one of the most powerful antioxidants in the human body.

Iodine (Potassium Iodide)

Needed for the healthy function of the thyroid gland, aids in body detoxification. The deficiency of Iodine is linked to arthritis, emotional disorders, malfunctioning glandular systems and weight fain associated with hormonal imbalance.

Folic acid

A vitamin B, necessary for the production and maintenance of new cells, as well as for DNA, RNA synthesis. It is considered to be especially important in women of child-bearing age, those considering becoming pregnant or already pregnant. This is because folate is vital for proper development of the foetal brain and spine — folic acid will prevent from neural tube defects.

Selenium is incorporated in proteins to make selenoproteins, which are important antioxidant enzymes and help to regulate thyroid function and play a role in the immune system.

Chromium (Picolinate)

Acts as anti-diabetic agent, lowers blood lipid levels and stimulates weight loss. Chromium picolinate is better absorbed during digestion compared to other chromium salts. This leads to higher chromium blood levels and is therefore preferred against other chromium supplements as it helps stabilize blood sugar levels, appetite control and cravings.

As a mid morning and/or late afternoon snack
As a meal replacement
It can be mixed with water, fruit juice, vegetable juice or milk.
Note: The ingredients in MEALtime (Chocolate Flavour) are as close to natural as possible in order to maintain the highest possible nutritional content, status and therefore benefits. As a result, the powder consistency and blending with liquids is unlike other highly processed, dairy-based meal replacements on the market. As we do not use any flow agents, additives, preservatives or emulsifiers (such as those used in other protein shakes), the blending process is a little slower.
How to mix with liquids for best results...
  1. Fill half a glass with water, fruit juice, soya milk, rice milk or any other liquid of choice.
  2. Add 2 heaped scoops of the powder to the liquid and stir.
  3. Leave for around 2 to 3 minutes to allow the unprocessed ingredients to absorb the liquid. The powder will dissolve fully and become a thick, smooth blend.
  4. You can now add more liquid if desired or drink as is.
  5. Add chopped fruits and berries and blend into a delicious, filling and highly nutritious smoothie, protein shake or meal replacement. For a frothy effect, use a hand-held frother or blender.
